The Solar Homes Program is helping eligible Victorian households to take charge of their power bills, adopt renewable energy and provide a cleaner, better future for all Victorians.

In Australia, rebates for solar panel (photovoltaic, or PV) systems vary by state and territory, and can change over time. Here is a general overview:

·        Victorian government currently offers a Solar Homes rebate program for eligible households to receive a discount on the cost of a solar panel system installation.

·        The Australian government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme provides financial incentives for individuals and small businesses to install eligible renewable energy systems, including solar panel systems.

It’s important to check the current rebate programs and eligibility requirements, as they can change over time. You can check the websites of your state or territory’s energy agency and the Australian government’s Clean Energy Regulator for more information.

About Energy Upgrades

How does the VEET scheme work? We’re often asked how and why the VEET scheme works by both residential and commercial customers interested in upgrading their properties to make them more energy efficient with subsidies through upgrades like led retrofits. We thought we’d provide a helpful summary of just how the VEET scheme works in relation to the LED upgrades we complete.

Since 2017 the VEET scheme changed its name and direction and is now titled the VEU Program ((Victorian Energy Upgrades) (also known as VEET and now titled VEU) encourages households and businesses to use energy more efficiently, save money on their bills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As one of the active players in the program – since 2008, Green Power Saver Australia can create Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (‘VEECs’) when we replace your halogen or Incandescent retrofit lights with program-approved energy-saving LED products. We then sell these Energy Efficiency Certificates to energy retailers (AGL, Origin etc) who are obligated to offset their carbon emissions by purchasing these certificates each year. This process completely covers the cost or subsidies some of your LED upgrades. All that’s required is for you to sign our VEEC assignment form at the end of the installation to allow us to create the VEECs.
